STV Environmental Guidelines

Energy consumption is the dominant source of greenhouse gas emissions especially in Commercial buildings, with electricity usage representing the dominant source of these emissions. Commercial building energy usage is dominated by air-conditioning (HVAC) and lighting systems.

STV identify the opportunity to improve its energy performance through actively promoting and encouraging the adoption of sustainable work practices and operations within our organisation so as to deliver the energy savings.

We do not have an Environmental Policy as such, however, all STV staff is committed to improve our business performance and conduct our operations in an environmentally responsible manner.

Using our philosophy of reduce, reuse, and recycle, we have provided a framework outlining our environmental objectives and targets, by incorporating environmental practice into our core business plans and management processes.

As part of our environmental strategy, we are committed to responsible Energy Saving Guidelines which we will practise energy efficiency wherever it is cost-effective.

Our immediate aim is:
• To gain control over our energy consumption by reviewing and improving our purchasing and operating practices.

Our objective is to control energy consumption to:
• Avoid unnecessary expenditure;
• Improve cost-effectiveness, productivity and working conditions; and
• Protect the environment.

Our long-term objectives are to:
• Reduce the amount of pollution, particularly greenhouse gas emissions, caused by our energy consumption; and
• Reduce, wherever possible, our dependence on fossil fuels through the use of renewable energy.
